Media ReviewsA stop over for Christmas and New Year around Efate - The Daily Post, 25 December 2015
Orovy Beach Restaurant is a new restaurant locally owned by ni-Vanuatu at Emua village in North Efate.
It is owned by the Orovy Association, a group formed by family members in the village. The restaurant is located right by the beach with spectacular views across to islands of Nguna, Pele, Kakula and even Mataso in the distance. It has a bar and serves a delicious menu that includes fish mornay, buttered fish and barbecued fish as well as chicken prepared by a chef that has spent spent two years at a major resort on Efate. The food cost starts at Vt2,000 down to Vt1,000 and buffet meals can also be prepared upon booking. The whole menu of the restaurant can be found on their website. The restaurant was started after close family members put together the talents and skills they had in tourism and created this business. Orovy Association started in 2013 to built its restaurant house but Cyclone Pam came and damaged it. But they did not give up and rebuilt the restaurant but reduced its size. The restaurant opened and started to receive guests over the last three months. It receives guests from the Evergreen tour, as well as private cars and tours that stopped by. While it may be new, Orovy Beach Restaurant has already received a great review on the Trip Advisor from a guest who rated the restaurant as excellent. Chairman of Orovy Association, Kaltonga Kalrongo, who is also Manager of the restaurant, said bookings for Christmas or New Year can be made for buffet or just stop overs for snacks. The restaurant’s mobile phone contact details are; 5447189 and 7737139. The manager says whatever guests want can be prepared for them.
